Since the death of the Newton in February of 1998, BOSPDAUG has been waiting, waiting, and waiting some more, with much angst and gnashing of teeth for another handheld device to come from Apple to make us whole again. The iPod is very nice, and toyed around with some PDA-like features, but it wasn’t quite there.
Like many others, we’ve seen the writing on the wall that convergent devices, combining smartphone and PDA functions was going to be the way of the future.
There have been many rumors… and much speculation… but to quote Bospdaug founder Al Willis:
“Today’s announcement is the Sum of All Rumors”
It may have killed the Zune… and RIM shares (makers of blackberry) are down 6% today.
The iPhone is indeed going to be a very big thing for bospdaug…. in JUNE! and before.
The January 9th meeting at MIT 3-133 will be the meeting to attend… if you are within driving distance be there!
